Add GST to a base price, or extract the base price and GST from a GST-inclusive amount. Works for all standard Indian GST slab rates: 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%.
About the GST Calculator
GST (Goods and Services Tax) replaced multiple central and state taxes in India from July 2017. Within a state, GST splits equally into CGST (central) and SGST (state). For inter-state supplies, the full amount is charged as IGST.
Formula used:
Add GST: Total = Base × (1 + rate). Remove GST: Base = Inclusive amount ÷ (1 + rate). GST = Total − Base.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find the GST amount from an inclusive price?
Use "Inclusive of GST" mode. For example: ₹118 at 18% → base = ₹100, GST = ₹18.
What are CGST, SGST and IGST?
Within a state, GST = CGST (50%) + SGST (50%). For inter-state transactions, the full rate is charged as IGST.
