Brokerage Calculator

Estimate your actual net profit or loss on a stock trade after deducting brokerage, Securities Transaction Tax (STT), exchange charges, stamp duty, SEBI fees and GST.

About the Brokerage Calculator

On small trades, charges can swallow a surprisingly large share of the gross profit. A ₹100 gain on a ₹10,000 intraday trade (1%) can be entirely eaten by charges of ₹80–90 — a 0.9% effective cost on the trade.

Formula used:

Brokerage capped at ₹20/order (discount brokers). STT: 0.1% of both sides (delivery) or 0.025% of sell side (intraday). Plus exchange charges, stamp duty, SEBI fee, GST.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are charges the same for delivery and intraday?

No. STT is much lower for intraday (sell side only at 0.025%) vs delivery (0.1% on both sides). But discount brokers often charge zero brokerage for delivery.

Why does my profit shrink so much after charges?

Statutory charges — STT, exchange fees, stamp duty, SEBI levy — apply on every trade regardless of profit. On small positions, these add up to 0.2–0.5% per trade.
