EPF Calculator

Estimate your Employees' Provident Fund corpus at retirement from monthly basic salary contributions.

About the EPF Calculator

The Employees' Provident Fund is a mandatory retirement scheme for salaried employees: you contribute 12% of basic pay, your employer contributes 12% too — of which 3.67% goes to your EPF account and 8.33% to the pension scheme (EPS). Interest is declared annually by the EPFO.

This calculator grows your salary by the increment you set each year, adds both EPF-bound contributions, and compounds the balance at the chosen rate until retirement.

Frequently asked questions

Is the EPF corpus tax-free?

Withdrawals after 5 years of continuous service are tax-free. Interest on employee contributions above the annual threshold set by the government is taxable.

Can I contribute more than 12%?

Yes — through the Voluntary Provident Fund (VPF) you can contribute up to 100% of basic pay at the same EPF interest rate.
